FW: Israeli Archaeologists Discover 1500-Year-Old Church and Mosaics
In the Judaean hills near Jerusalem, archaeologists this week unveiled the remains of a church believed to be 1500 years old. Local authorities discovered the site by accident while pursuing a group of robbers who had been stealing antiquities. Experts say the find includes some of the best preserved and most beautiful mosaics uncovered in Israel in recent years. Some scholars have also speculated that beneath the church might be the burial ground of the Old Testament prophet Zechariah.
